Founder and President

Martina E. Vandenberg is founder and president of the Human Trafficking Legal Center. Vandenberg established the Human Trafficking Legal Center (formerly HT Pro Bono) in 2012 with generous support from the Open Society Foundations (OSF) Fellowship Program. 

Maggie Lee

Deputy Director

Maggie Lee is the deputy director at the Human Trafficking Legal Center. She provides general management and supervision support to the entire organization.

Evelyn Chumbow

Advocacy and Survivor Leadership Director

Evelyn Chumbow is the advocacy and survivor leadership director at the Human Trafficking Legal Center. She is a survivor of child labor trafficking turned anti-trafficking activist and public speaker. Chumbow focuses her life’s work on ending modern-day slavery. 

J. Morgan Ewing

Development Director

J. Morgan Ewing is the development director at the Human Trafficking Legal Center. He leads the organization’s development and fundraising efforts.

Agatha Schmaedick

Senior Staff Attorney

Agatha Schmaedick is the senior staff attorney at the Human Trafficking Legal Center. She is a labor and human rights advocate with over fifteen years of experience both in the United States and internationally.

Anasuya Syam

Human Rights and Trade Policy Director

Anasuya Syam is the human rights and trade policy director at the Human Trafficking Legal Center. She leads the Human Trafficking Legal Center’s initiative on the U.S. Tariff Act and forced labor, with a focus on conducting investigations and submitting petitions under the Tariff Act.

Clara Martin

Operations Manager

Clara Martin is the operations manager at the Human Trafficking Legal Center and is responsible for overseeing the overall function of the office and supporting our staff.

Logan Bulls

Paralegal and Intake Specialist

Logan Bulls is the paralegal and intake specialist at the Human Trafficking Legal Center. She manages and maintains the organization’s case databases. She is also responsible for conducting intake interviews of prospective clients.

Nat Caterino

Development Associate

Nat Caterino is the development associate at the Human Trafficking Legal Center. She supports the organization’s development and fundraising efforts.

Communications Associate

Olivia deMontmorency is the communications associate at the Human Trafficking Legal Center and is responsible for all aspects of the organization’s communications.

Kendra Ross is a survivor-leader in the anti-trafficking movement. She serves as a consultant and advisor to the Human Trafficking Legal Center.
