Joelle Peikes
Communications Manager
Joelle Peikes is the Communications Manager at the Human Trafficking Legal Center. She leads all aspects of the organization’s communications, including digital storytelling, website and brand management, and social media strategy.
Joelle previously served in communications and project management roles on global USAID programs related to health supply chains, and water security and sanitation. She has worked with social enterprises and nonprofits around the world to empower women entrepreneurs, improve access to education technology programs for children in India, and enrich English language learning through the arts for teens in Morocco.
As a graduate student, Joelle traveled to Greece, Turkey, Serbia, and Jordan to study humanitarian assistance and economic opportunities for refugee populations.
She holds a BA in Anthropology from the University of Maryland, and an MA in International Affairs from The New School in New York City, with a focus on human rights and governance.
