Jehane Djedjro
Program Associate
Jehane Djedjro is the Program Associate at the Human Trafficking Legal Center. She supports the Survivor Leadership and Trade programs, as well as general operations.
Her interest in international affairs extended beyond the classroom and into global convening spaces. Through her work with the Corporate Council on Africa, she traveled to Botswana and Angola to participate in the 15th and 17th U.S.–Africa Business Summit. The summits brought together more than 2,000 leaders from government, business, finance, and civil society, making them one of the largest platforms for U.S.–Africa economic engagement. During these gatherings, millions of dollars in trade agreements, investments, and strategic partnerships were announced, shaping economic collaboration between the United States and countries across the African continent. Through her participation, Jehane engaged in conversations at the center of high-level dialogues on development, investment, and international cooperation.
While at American University, Jehane served as Student Trustee on the university’s Board of Trustees, representing the student body within the institution’s highest governing body. In this role, she worked alongside senior university leadership to help guide strategic priorities and ensure student perspectives were represented in institutional decision-making. She also co-chaired the Finish Line Committee, supporting initiatives focused on improving student retention and expanding the resources available to help more students successfully complete their degrees.
After graduating, Jehane brought her passion for community-building into the education sector. She began as Student Life Director at New Covenant Academy, where she worked directly with students to cultivate a supportive and engaging campus environment. She later expanded her experience through an operational role as Auxiliary and Facilities Associate at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Day School, gaining insight into the systems and infrastructure that sustain thriving educational communities.
Jehane holds a BA in International Relations with a specialization in Global Inequality and Development from American University.
