Kiley Munsey

2023 Summer Legal Fellow

Kiley Munsey is a legal fellow at the Human Trafficking Legal Center. She is a rising 2L at the University of St. Thomas Law School in Minneapolis. She is currently co-President of the Minnesota Justice Foundation and treasurer of the LGBTQIA+ club “The Outlaws” on the St. Thomas campus.

Munsey graduated from the University of Denver in 2014 with a degree in creative writing and spent many years of her professional career working with children as an early childhood educator. During the pandemic, Munsey started to volunteer with the CASA organization, working as an advocate for children in the foster care system. During her time in the program, she worked closely with attorneys that represented children and their families. Seeing the impact the attorneys had on the children they worked with, Munsey decided to return to school and pursue a career in law.

Before returning to school, Munsey worked to help raise money for Youth Homes, an organization that provides housing and services to children in the community experiencing addiction and homelessness in Western Montana. She also helped to co-create the Recovery Club at Yavapai College in Prescott, Arizona, which offers a safe environment for young adults seeking support when dealing with addiction, mental health struggles, and trauma. Munsey is extremely excited to work at the Human Trafficking Legal Center this summer, an organization she has admired for many years.

Born and raised in Missoula, Montana, Munsey enjoys any time spent outdoors and in the mountains and is an avid downhill skier.
