Robin Heller

Robin Heller is president of The Athena Advisors. Since 2000, she has collaborated with high-performing teams and boards to raise more than $80 million for organizations.

These organizations include the advocacy organization Children’s Defense Fund, the Pulitzer-winning journalism organization Center for Public Integrity, the youth mentoring organization Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, and the global conservation organization Rare.

She has worked in social justice, civil society, and environmental organizations throughout her 30-year career. Dividing her time between Washington, DC, and London, she is particularly interested in cross-border fundraising, enabling global organizations to engage donors in other countries in ways that are culturally competent and lead to long-term relationships.

Her areas of expertise include major giving, foundations/institutional fundraising, board development, senior management team collaboration, fundraising ethics, and crisis management. She has deep fundraising expertise in health, journalism and media, children and youth, education, and environmental justice.

She received a bachelor’s degree with honors from Northwestern University and a master’s in social service administration from Columbia University.
