Anya Behrens

Summer Legal Fellow

Anya Behrens is a Summer Legal Fellow at the Human Trafficking Legal Center and a rising 3L at Harvard Law School. As a law student, she has collaborated on projects with Advocates for Human Rights, a student practice organization, as well as the International Human Rights Clinic and the Human Rights Entrepreneurs Clinic. Anya has also worked as a managing editor and articles editor for the Harvard Human Rights Journal. Last summer, she clerked for the D.C. Children’s Law Center, and this fall, she will join the Child Advocacy Clinic before returning to the Human Rights Entrepreneurs Clinic in the spring before graduation. She grew up in Des Moines, Iowa and attended the University of Iowa, receiving a B.A. in History. As an undergraduate, she led a reproductive justice student group and worked on the violence-prevention team at the university’s women’s center. Anya was involved in organizing Take Back the Night events, and wrote a senior comparative essay on the history of this feminist anti-violence march. She is interested in human rights and children’s rights issues.
