Rachel Grand
Summer Legal Fellow
Rachel Grand is a Summer Legal Fellow at the Human Trafficking Legal Center and a rising 2L at American University Washington College of Law. Before law school, she spent over four years as a U.S. government official working at the intersection of human rights, gender equality, and international criminal accountability at the State Department, Department of Defense, and USAID. As a Presidential Management Fellow, she completed rotations at the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok, where she served as a Human Rights Officer, and at the Pentagon, where she led defense policy initiatives across Central Europe. Rachel holds a master’s degree in International Crimes, Conflict, and Criminology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and a bachelor’s degree in International Relations, International Development, and Social Policy from Tulane University. She is committed to advancing justice for survivors of torture, trafficking, and gender-based violence.
